During the civil war authorities in Natchez, Mississippi forced tens of thousands of freed slaves into concentration camps, built in what’s known as the “The Devil’s Punchbowl.”

I was enraged when I first heard about that event a year or two ago. It really shows how much they don’t tell you about in school. How could people be so sick to annex, enslave, and to starve out others? It shows how broken the prisoners were when they were begging to go back to the plantations. Much like the Congolese Genocide and the Namibian Genocide (especially Shark Island if you know about that tragedy), this atrocity shows the contempt that they have against Black people. Those situations also remind me of the Elephant Graveyard from The Lion King (saying nothing of that movie plagiarizing the 60s anime Kimba the White Lion or how freaking racist that Disney movie is), like how the creators most likely saw the hyenas as proxies for Black people who deserve to be starved out and punished at all costs. Seriously, it’s a shame how those devils get away with these things and it also proves the case that reparations need to be made. The Devil’s Punchbowl was never justified and Black people NEVER did anything like that to Caucasians.
I agree with you 100%!!! And as a Black person I am not voting for either party unless they offer some reparations and other tangibles exclusively for Black people who descended from American slavery, Jim Crow, etc..
We are the only people in this country who had are towns fire bombed like Black Wallstreet, or had the FBI and its Counter Intelligence Program (Cointelpro) illegally spy and destroy our movements and even assisted in the assassination of some of our leaders like Fred Hampton.
Last time I checked the armed White extremists in the Bundy Ranch, who shot at the FBI, we’re never fired bombed like the Black MOVE organization was in Philadelphia in the 1980’s, hell we could go on for hours naming America’s and the Europeans crime against Black people….
Thanks! I think that reply was about the reparations issue, but I agree with what you say and The Devil’s Punchbowl only adds to the reparations argument. This can still apply here. No tangibles, no vote!
Exactly, and it’s disgusting how there were laws protecting actual criminality while the innocent get punished.
Very good analogy with the Bundy Ranch. It’s crazy how they fired at the authorities and the cops RETREATED! When the Black Panthers did a protest about their 2nd Amendment rights in Sacramento without any shots fired, the NRA helped fund a gun control bill signed by then governor Ronald Reagan to stop Black people from getting easy legal access to guns. Going back to the Bundys, I remember when they took over that building in Oregon for 3-4 weeks and threatened to murder cops, but the authorities barely did anything.
I agree that we can go on and on, but your point still stands.
