What will it take to truly see change? 🙁
I hope more knowledge, once people figure out that we are more alike than different and the people that hold us back, the police, politicians and greedy corporations, hold us all back, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, and religion, maybe we can demand they respect are rights, but first we have to let them know they work for us and not the other way around!
I believe it will take a complete overhaul of the police/justice system. When everyone is given the same rights and courtesies (as the law dictates, and law enfocement ignores) then we will see true change.
It’s possible that entire law enforcement agencies will have to be dismantled, put together again with better checks and balances. All officers wearing STREAMING body cameras while on duty would help a great deal. People tend to behave more like, well–people–when they know someone is watching them.
I hope this state of affairs doesn’t last much longer, though, because every day my heart gets a little more broken, a little harder. And i dont want to know what happens when it shatters.
